Lake effect snow will fall today into tonight across parts of the area, but it won’t snow the entire day. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through tonight for Berrien County, where another 3-6” is possible. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for La Porte, St. Joseph and Cass Counties for an addition 2-4”. The best timing for a heavier band of lake effect snow appears to be late afternoon into the evening.
A few snow showers and flurries remain possible tonight into New Year’s Day with bitterly cold temperatures moving in through the remainder of the week. Another round of lake effect snow looms mid-week with a moderation in temperatures by next weekend into the 20s.
