Lake effect snow turns on Wednesday night as temperatures drop into the 20's and the wind backs to the northwest.
A coating of snow is likely by Thursday morning and you may need to brush off your windshield if you live north of US-6 (Fig 1). As temperatures rise back to the low 30's Thursday, flurries are possible but little no accumulation.
Thursday night into Friday morning is the most favorable set-up for accumulation. A reinforcing wave backs the wind farther to the northwest and will likely bring a coating of snow to move of northern Indiana and southwest and lower Michigan (Fig 2).
ForecasTrack is performing well (Fig 3 & 4), and also shows the heaviest snow stays north of Michiana mostly impacting Van Buren county.
