Lake Michigan College to dedicate the Liz and Lloyd Miller Family Field on Sept. 20

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Lake Michigan College will host a naming dedication for the Liz and Lloyd Miller Family Field Saturday at 11:45 a.m. on LMC's Benton Harbor campus.
The event, which does not require any RSVP to attend, will include a ribbon cutting and brief comments from both the Miller family and College leaders.
Following the dedication, attendees can either attend the softball game between the LMC Red Hawks and the Bethel University Pilots at noon or join the Miller family at the Welch Center for a reception from 12:45 to 5 p.m.
Liz Miller founded the college's women's athletics program as a three-sport coach in 1974, later becoming the college's first female athletic director over the course of her 17-year career. Her husband, Llyod, supported her work in a variety of volunteer roles and served on the LMC Foundation Board of Directors.
The new AstroTurf softball field named in their honor is part of the renovated West Campus Athletic Complex, which also includes new baseball and soccer AstroTurf fields.
LMC's Benton Harbor campus is located at 2755 E. Napier Avenue, and the field is located on the west end of campus, behind Beckwith Hall. Free parking can be found in Lot 1 near the softball field.
