Lake Michigan College unveils $7 million science labs

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Lake Michigan College unveiled its new science wing!

The Benton Harbor campus recently underwent a $7 million renovation. A federal grant helped pay for the project, which included 11 new science labs and high-tech research equipment.

Thanks to the renovations, LMC says the science department is now competitive with other local universities.

"We're to scale with them and we're now leading in the area. Now, the local schools are coming here to look at our science labs to see how to update theirs,” said Biology Instructor Susan Lentz.

The college says almost every LMC student will use the new labs, even if they're not getting a science degree.
