Landfill employees accused of embezzling $249K

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Two men who worked at the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Authority are accused of embezzling approximately $249,000 from the agency, according to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office.

Clyde David Fuller III, 46, of Buchanan, has been charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and embezzlement over $100,000.

Terry Eldon Snow, 54, of Eau Claire, has been charged with aiding and abetting a criminal enterprise and embezzlement over $100,000.

Fuller was the director of the Landfill Authority and Snow was an employee, according to the prosecutor's office.

A few months ago, the Berrien County Sheriff's Department began investigating payments made by the Landfill Authority to GT & S Enterprises totaling $249,000 between December 2016 and June 2017.

Public records link GT&S Enterprises to Goldie Snow, Terry Snow's mother.

Payments from the Landfill Authority to GT & S Enterprises coincided with transfers to bank accounts owned by Fuller and Snow individually.

Landfill Authority records show Fuller authorized payment of GT & S invoices.

The Landfill Authority was not made aware of any relationship between GT & S Enterprises and Fuller or Snow prior to authorizing payment for invoices from GT & S Enterprises, according to the prosecutor's office.

The investigation revealed GT & S provided no services to the landfill.

Fuller and Snow were arraigned on Tuesday.
