Lane restrictions on multiple bridges in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - St. Joseph County officials announced, in compliance with federal government requirements, it has contracted DLZ to perform inspections on several major local bridges.

During the inspection process, lane closures or restrictions will be required.

Cleveland Road over St. Jospeh River

  • Closure of the eastbound, outside lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning June 3, extending through June 5.  
  • Closure of the westbound outside lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning June 6. The sidewalk on the north side of the bridge will also be closed to pedestrians during these times.

Ironwood Drive over St. Joseph River

  • Closure of the southbound outside lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 7 and June 10. The sidewalk on the west side of the bridge will be closed to pedestrians during these times.
  • Closure of the northbound outside lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 11. The sidewalk along the east side of the bridge will be closed to pedestrians during these times.

Twyckenham Bridge over St. Joseph River

  • Southbound lane closed transitioning southbound traffic to the southbound left turn lane on June 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to June 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The sidewalk along the west side of the bridge will be closed to pedestrians during these times.
  • Northbound lane closed, transitioning northbound traffic to the southbound left turn lane on June 13 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. to June 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sidewalk along the east side of the bridge will be closed to pedestrians during these times.
  • One lane will close along Northside Boulevard under the Twyckenham Bridge, maintaining two lanes of traffic using flaggers on June 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Lane closures will be intermittent within this time frame.
  • The sidewalk along the south side of Northside Boulevard will be closed to pedestrians when the eastbound lane is closed.

Ash Road over St. Joseph River

  • Closure of the southbound shoulder on June 17 from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
  • Closure of the northbound shoulder on June 18 from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
