Larry Bird returns to the Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS -- Larry Bird is making a return to the Indianapolis Pacers.

The hall of famer resigned for health reasons in 2012 but Bird will officially head back to work on Monday.

He was having problems with his shoulder and back but now he is glad to be home.

"I had a different experience this year being out of it, still rooting like heck for them, but a different perspective watching them play so I can understand what we need, what we can do, and there's some work to be done," said Bird.

Bird says he was not sure if he would come back to the team but is looking forward to returning as President of Basketball Operations.
