SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The second phase of the Lasalle Avenue Streetway Project will begin Monday, September 25 on the north side of the street from Hill to the St. Joseph River.

The Lasalle Avenue Streetway Project will include enhancements to slow speed traffic and to create safer bike and pedestrian facilities. 

The Hill and Niles intersections will only be open for westbound traffic to turn south.

Motorists on Lasalle Ave. will only be able to travel westbound from St. Louis Blvd. to Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. 

Motorists will not be able to travel from the north. 

Lasalle Ave. eastbound traffic will have a detour--south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and east on Colfax Ave. to Eddy St. 

Access to businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.

The overall construction will be in three phases and is expected to conclude in November.
