SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A section of LaSalle Avenue will be closed beginning Monday while AEP installs an underground transmission line.

The road will be closed at Sycamore Street for the repair.

Eastbound traffic will detour south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, east on Colfax Avenue, and north on St. Louis Boulevard until LaSalle.

Westbound traffic will detour south on Niles Avenue, west on Colfax Avenue, and north onto Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard until LaSalle.

Residents will still have access to businesses in the affected areas.

The street should reopen at the end of the day on Friday, February 25, weather permitting.
