Leaf pickup schedule for St. Joseph County

St. Joseph County begins its spring leaf pickup pass on Monday April 4th.

The pickup begins in Penn Township and the schedule rotates counter clockwise around St. Joseph County.

The county asks residents to have all remaining leaves to the curb by Sunday, April 3. There will be only one spring pass.

The county has the following requirements for leaf piles:

• Leaves must be raked within 5-feet of the roadside and not into the roadway or ditches which may cause drainage issues during periods of rainfall. Leaves farther than 5-feet from the road will not be collected.
• Bagged leaves, grass clippings, pine needles, trash, pet feces or tree limbs are not included in the St. Joseph County leaf collection program and if any of these items are in a resident’s leaf pile, the entire pile will not be collected.
