Lerner Theater showcasing new clay mural

ELKHART, Ind. -- Crews in Elkhart have put together a one-of-a-kind puzzle.

The Lerner Theater is showcasing some new artwork downtown. The massive mural used to hang in the cafeteria of the Old Miles-Bayer building. It's made out of 4,000 pieces of clay, and shows the history of medicine.

City workers told us the Lerner is the perfect home for the priceless work of art!!

"It's just the perfect place for it and the highlight,” said Wayne Harshberger. “I think, preserving the history because at one time I think Miles was one of the biggest employers here, and my brother worked there the whole time and he ate in the cafeteria every day."

One piece of the mural is upstairs, another piece is near the lobby, and the rest remains in storage.
