Local bakeries prepare for Paczki push

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — It is a big day for bakers all across Michiana as they prepare for Monday's Paczki production push for Fat Tuesday.

We stopped by the Martins Bakery where they are filling thousands of orders. They say they have had workers making pastries at the facility since 1:00 a.m.

The popular Polish pastry has been a "Fat Tuesday" favorite in Michiana for nearly 100 years.

Bakers say their personal favorite is the Chocolate Bavarian Cream. They tell us they make eight other flavors and are introducing a cream cheese filled Paczki as well.
