Local church to hold piano recital to support Downtown Soup Kitchen

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Dr. Brandon Hollihan, the music director at First United Methodist Church, will perform a free, online piano recital on Friday, January 8.

This pre-recorded event is free to the public but viewers can choose to donate through the church ministry PayPal link to benefit the Downtown Soup Kitchen ministry.

Dr. Hollihan will be performing selections from the George Gershwin songbook, Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53 “Waldstein,” and John Adams’ Phrygian Gates.

A YouTube link to the recital can be found on the church’s website and on both the church’s and Soup Kitchen’s Facebook pages beginning Wednesday evening, January 6.

The actual performance will begin Friday evening at 8 p.m.

Dr. Hollihan holds his Bachelor’s in vocal performance and Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting from Notre Dame, as well as Master’s degrees in voice and conducting from Ohio State.
