The Indiana Whiskey Company in South Bend is filling the hand sanitizer void by making their own. So far they have filled nearly 30,000 bottles and plan to send 25,000 bottles to essential businesses throughout the area.
“It’s imperative that these organizations have this. So while the virus itself, the one that’s going around, I mean hand sanitizer isn’t going to do a ton for that. It’s important that these other entities have that," said Matt Logsdon, Vice President of the Indiana Whiskey Company.
Indiana University and Notre Dame students have been volunteering to help with bottling and packaging the sanitizer.
The company is also making their hand sanitizer available to local residents. Just stop by the distillery at 1115 W. Sample Street for a 1.5 ounce bottle. Additional bottles can be purchased.
