It was a full day of action in girls basketball regionals, however the end result for several local teams.
At the 4A regional in LaPorte, Penn fell in the championship to Crown Point in an overtime thriller. The Lady Kingsmen advanced to Saturday's final with a morning semifinal win over Plymouth, who saw its own dream run come to an end.
In 3A, Marian made its first-ever regional championship with a win over Knox, but lost in the final to defending champion Northwestern.
North Judson also advanced to the regional championship, but came up just short against 2A's number one team Central Noble.
