Local mascot gets makeover
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Swoop, the South Bend Silver Hawks mascot, debuted a new look today.
Swoop officially announced the makeover on twitter, Wednesday morning.
The mascot had been giving twitter followers picture clues all week.
He has a new white jersey and new smile.
ABC 57 caught up with the Silver Hawks owner, Andrew Berlin, to get his thoughts on Swoop's new look.
Berlin said, "Swoop needed a little plastic surgery. So, we decided to go for a whole new Swoop. He's a friendlier, happier, lighter Swoop for the poor guy, that's gotta be in that costume in August."
Swoop isn't the only one getting a makeover, Coveleski Stadium will also see some changes this year; including a water park and more seating.
The Silver Hawks' home opener is April 9.
