Local non-profits and community members in need invited to open house at Portage Manor Monday night

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Commissioners announced they will hold an open house at Portage Manor, where local non-profits, daycares, and community members in need can browse and select remaining items to take.

Commissioner Derek Dieter will host the open house on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

During the event, organizers say they want to ensure valuable resources are put to good use in the community.

Organizers say to participate, attendees will be asked to fill out a waiver upon entering the manor.

Dieter says he is exploring the possibility of hosting additional open houses every Monday throughout September, excluding Labor Day, based on the success of the first event.
