BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Benton Township Police Department is asking for the public's help determining the circumstances that led to a woman being found severely injured on the side of the road around 1 a.m. on June 5.

"The Benton Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of E. Napier Ave. and S. Crystal for an initial report of a personal injury crash," the BTPD said.

"Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate any vehicles involved, but did find a 35-year-old female, with serious injuries, on the side of the road. Due to the patient’s medical condition, she has not been able to give a statement as to what happened."

The Benton Township Police is requesting the public’s assistance in an attempt to discover what happened. They are asking that anyone who was in the area and maybe saw a vehicle or the victim walking prior to the incident, to contact the BTPD at 269-926-8221 or Berrien County Central Dispatch at 269-983-3060.
