How rain is hampering planting progress
WARSAW, Ind. – A local high school football player was ranked the number two high school football kicker in the nation on Thursday.
Warsaw High School’s Harrison Mevis not only achieved that high ranking, but was also invited to play in the Under Armor All-American Football game next year.
There are over 300 other students in the country who play the same position as Mevis and who could have won these accolades over him.
Mevis, while honored, was humble about how he got to where he is.
He gives all the glory to his team and those who helped him along the way, saying, “I’m the number two ranked kicker in the nation- the number ten punter- but you know, I gotta [sic] give credit to my teammates, coaches, for putting me in the weight room, getting me all the work in the off season done, and also my brother, who plays (football) in college. He’s inspired me a lot, and it’s been a great journey.”
The Warsaw Tiger football team plays Merrillville away on Friday, and the All-American game will be played on January 2, 2020 in Orlando Florida.
