Midway Tavern celebrates their centennial
GOSHEN, Ind. -- Representative Jackie Walorski, R-District 2 was part of a pinning ceremony at Goshen Hospice on Friday in honor of Vietnam War Veteran's Day.
The event was held at the Courtyard Healthcare Center on College Avenue Friday morning as part of Goshen Hospice's We Honor Veterans program.
Each Vietnam veteran received a pin, a letter from the president and a certificate.
The ceremony means a lot to the veterans.
"They love it, we’ve had several of them say ‘Nobody’s ever recognized me for my service in Vietnam’ and this is very special to them," said Brenda Yoder, the Director of Homecare and Hospice.
"There’s a lot of emotion here, when I come by and shake their hand and look them in the eye and tell them that we are a grateful country," Congresswoman Walorski said.
The directors say the veterans enjoy the program and they deserve to be celebrated.
