SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The first structural change to the Morris Performing Art Center since 2000 was specifically for one major upcoming production.
Wednesday, a new steel beam was installed in order to hang an iconic chandelier for the 19 upcoming performances of the Phantom of the Opera.
“It's a very special effect that happens in the show that requires some structural modification to the theater um today you'll see that one of those modifications going up in the form of a structural steel beam. It’s a permanent improvement to the theater and it's being made possible by ticket sales to the show,” said Aaron Perri, South Bend Venues Parks and Arts.
The production will be coming to the Morris starting March of 2018.
