Man accused of battering girlfriend's child sentenced to 3 years

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A man accused of battering his girlfriend's one-year-old child in June was sentenced to three years, according to court documents.
On Thursday, John Sutton pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement to the felony charge of battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age, according to reports.
He was sentenced to three years in county jail with two years suspended.
He was also sentenced to two years' probation.
A No Contact Order will remain in effect through Sutton's probation.
