SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man was arrested after threatening to rob someone inside a South Bend barber shop.
Police confirm that a suspect was arrested this weekend for attempted robbery at John’s Barber Shop on the 2000 block of S. Michigan Street.
The suspect, identified as Sammy Medrano, 50, allegedly walked into the business and threatened to cut a person in the shop.
The victim then grabbed a gun and pointed it at Medrano.
Medrano fled the business and entered a nearby restaurant on S. Michigan Street.
Police responded to the call and found Medrano in the restaurant thanks to a description provided.
Officers found a knife and drug paraphernalia on Medrano.
Medrano was taken into custody and the case has now been turned over to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
