Man arrested for cocaine possession, driving while intoxicated
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - A Bremen man was arrested for cocaine possession and driving while intoxicated during an investigation into a crash on Saturday, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
At 10:40 p.m., deputies were called to the area of U.S. 31 and U.S. 6 for a crash involving two vehicles.
One of the drivers involved, identified as Roberto Rea, was found to be under the influence of alcohol, deputies said.
K9 Bear was deployed to investigate Rea's vehicle, a maroon 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck, and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Deputies found a small amount of suspected cocaine in the truck, reports said.
A field sobriety test and blood draw determined Rea's blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit, according to reports.
Rea was booked on the following charges:
- Operating a vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated - endangering
- Operating a vehicle without ever receiving a driver's license
- Possession of cocaine
