Man arrested for possession of meth in Sturgis

A 28-year-old Sturgis man was arrested Tuesday night after deputies found methamphetamine and marijuana in his vehicle. 

St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Maple Street just before midnight for a defective equipment violation. 

Upon inspection, Deputies say a K-9 unit from the Sturgis Police Department located crystal meth and marijuana in the vehicle. 

According to officials, over $9,000 of suspected stolen lottery tickets from Michigan and Indiana were found inside the vehicle as well.
