Man calls LaPorte County Sheriff to report a crime, gets arrested for outstanding rape warrant
LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Around 5:15 on Tuesday, LaPorte County Sheriff's Office deputies received a call from 28-year-old Kyle Terusiak who wanted to file a harassment complaint, but after deputies confirmed Terusiak was wanted for rape, he was taken into custody.
The initial call came from a residence in the 2700 east block of CR450 South in LaPorte County.
The rape charges against Terusiak are an F3 Felony.
According to the LCSO, the arrest warrant was issued following an investigation that began on Nov. 12, 2023. On Jan. 5, a sealed arrest warrant was issued for Terusiak for the offense. Since then, members of the Warrants Division have been looking for him.
Terusiak was housed in the LaPorte County Jail where he was served with the arrest warrant. He is being held on a $25,005.00 cash-only bond through La Porte County Circuit Court.
Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
