Man charged in his 4-year-old step-son's death last summer has been convicted for murder

ELKHART, Ind. -- A Jury on September 22, found Christian Maradiaga guilty of three felonies which include Murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and interference with the reporting of a crime.

Court documents show Maradiaga told a close family friend he smoked meth minutes before he beat, and threw his step-son around, leaving him unconscious. The boy later died at the hospital.

Sentencing is set for October 20, at 8:30 a.m.
