ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon for Domestic Battery after allegedly grabbing a child by the throat and pushing them against a car in the Goshen Little League parking lot.

Ronald Baumgardner was charged with Domestic Battery on a Person Less than 14 Years Old, a Level 6 Felony.

Around 2:47 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the parking lot at the Goshen Little League baseball diamonds for reports of an adult battering a child. When officers arrived, multiple families with their children present were in the parking lot.

According to witnesses, Baumgardner shouted at the child before pushing them against the car with his hand around their throat and pulling them by their wrist.

Baumgardner does not have an initial hearing yet.
