Man convicted of killing South Bend cop seeks sentence reduction

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man convicted of killing a South Bend cop is now asking for a sentence reduction.

Gregory Dickens Jr. shot and killed Corporal Paul Deguch back in 1997. A judge sentenced him to life in prison.

Dickens was only 16 years old at the time of the murder. This is the fourth time he's asked for a sentence reduction.

Wednesday, a judge set a hearing for later this month.
