WALKERTON, Ind - A man was caught on camera, speeding past the stop arm of a local school bus, all while flipping the bird.
It happened Thursday afternoon while kids were still on the bus.
Walkerton Police say people need to be more aware of bus safety protocol, and while the driver has been identified and action has been taken, some parents say they're upset about the situation and the blatant disregard for student safety.
The video captured exactly what unfolded Thursday afternoon.
As you can see the school bus had stopped with the stop arm extended before the driver even approached the bus.
But instead of slowing down he kept going.
The bus driver started honking the horn to alert the driver, who then stuck his arm out and flipped the bus driver off as he blew through the stop arm and sped away.
Ashley Nelson, a parent with five children in the John Glenn School District, is deeply upset after hearing about the event.
"I just want to say do better, it's uh ridiculous we have seen people die, we have seen kids die from people not paying attention to the arms on the school buses, do better and don't flip them off and be a jerk when you're passing them,” said Nelson.
