Man in Van Buren County dies in accident after moving snow
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Ind. – The Sheriff’s Office in Van Buren County confirmed that a man died on Tuesday after being pinned down by a skid steer after clearing out snow at a business.
Deputies were dispatched to the business located at the 51000 block of 28th Avenue. When they arrived, they found that the 40-year-old male victim had already died from his injuries.
Co-workers had already freed the man from being stuck under the skid steer by the time deputies arrived.
The man who died was cleaning out the snow near the pedals. The raised bucket had lowered down on him, causing his death.
Police say that the death is accidental, but they will continue to investigate the incident.
