At 4:40 p.m. Sunday, the Walkerton Police Department received an emergency call from a woman at 128 Woodcreek Drive. According to police, the woman on the call was screaming for a man to put the gun down.
When officers arrived, 67-year-old Kerry Reed had barricaded himself in the home, police said.
He went to the door several times with a gun and screamed at officers, then locked himself back in the house.
When SWAT made entry to the home several hours later, they found Reed dead.
An autopsy determined Reed died of a gunshot wound to the chest and his death was ruled a suicide.
