Man killed on I-65 while changing flat tire

While changing his tire on I-65, a man from Gary, Indiana was struck and killed by another vehicle early Monday morning. 

The incident occurred near mile marker 243, three miles north of the State Road 2 exit to Lowell and Hebron. 

Indiana State Police say at approximately 1:14 a.m., 55-year-old Gregory Davis was changing a flat tire on his vehicle on the right shoulder, when a driver of a Ford Focus drifted over the fog line and struck Davis. 

Troopers located Davis 150 feet from his vehicle.

According to ISP, a female subject was walking away from the scene and was later identified as Davis’s passenger. 

She was not injured in the incident.
