Man on porch robbed, stabbed Sunday afternoon

ELKHART, Ind. -- A man who was on his porch Sunday afternoon was robbed and stabbed, according to Elkhart Police.

Just before 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Aspenwald Avenue to take a robbery report.

The victim said he was on the porch when a man approached him and asked to use the phone.

When the victim said no, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the shoulder, police said.

The suspect took the victim's phone and left the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
