Man sentenced in shooting near Chili's in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Man arrested in a double-shooting near a Chili’s on Grape road has been sentenced.
Austyn Alexander Brooks, 22, was arrested and booked back in June into the St. Joseph County Jail.
Brooks was sentenced Monday for Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery inflicts injury that causes a protracted loss or impairment.
Brooks will serve 3 years for the Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon consecutively with 12 years for Aggravated Battery that inflicts injury.
The other man involved in the shooting, Bryce Dehner, 21, is due to be sentenced on Sept. 20th
