Man shot in leg by unknown suspect in Elkhart

Elkhart Police responded to the Elkhart General Hospital Sunday night with information about a shooting report.

Police arrived around 9:13 p.m.

The victim there told police he was in the 1300 block of West Franklin Street when an unknown person shot at him.

Police say one of the bullets struck him in the leg.

The victim transported himself to the hospital for treatment of a non-left threatening gunshot injury. 

Police say the suspect is described as a black male wearing dark clothing. No other details have been released at this time.
