Man shot in leg on North Adams Street on Sunday

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- One man was shot in the thigh in the 900 block of North Adams Street on Sunday just after 2:30 p.m.

One neighbor returned home from Chicago to find out police were looking in the alley behind her home for a shooter.

Joanna Day said, “It’s not uncommon and it’s a tragedy that it keeps happening. I hope the guy is ok that got shot.”

Day said she's shocked that crime has once again entered her backyard.

Day said, “I know for sure my house has been shot twice. Once recently on the last fourth of July and it went through two walls and into the kitchen cabinet.”

Day said she's seen an increase in crime on North Adams Street in the past year.

“It’s so scary. I actually was sitting on the porch one time and saw someone shooting at the car driving right past our house and just saw the blue light. It was really scary.”

No arrests have been made.

If you have any information regarding this shooting call the South Bend Police Department.
