Man struck by lightning in Elkhart

A man was struck by lightning while on his moped in the area of 123 W. Hively Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
Elkhart Police were called to the Elkhart Green Apartments just before 2 p.m. to assist paramedics.
A witness told our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth she saw a bolt of lightning hit the tree and strike the victim underneath it.
The man was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
