Man suffers life-threatening injuries in shooting

ELKHART, Ind. -- A 37-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries in a shooting that happened late Monday night, according to Elkhart Police.
Officers were on a traffic stop in the area of Indiana Avenue and Edgewater Drive when they heard gunfire.
They cleared the traffic stop and located a shooting scene at 615 W. Marion and 37-year-old Julian Brooks with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Brooks was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
