Man thrown from motorcycle during crash in front of Four Winds Casino

DOWAGIAC, Mich. – A 75-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene of a crash in front of Four Winds Casino on M-51 Sunday morning.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of the motorcycle, Gerald Keesler, was traveling southbound on M-51 when the vehicle in front of him slowed to turn into the Bent Tree Market and Gas Station.

Keesler attempted to go around the turning vehicle but was hit by another vehicle pulling out of the gas station.

The two collided and Keesler was thrown from his motorcycle, according to deputies.

He was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo where he was treated for his injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Deputies say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
