Man turns himself in at Four Winds Casino for Chicago murder

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man has turned himself in to local police after confessing to a murder in Chicago. Juan Osorio allegedly admitted to stabbing and killing a man at an apartment building.
Around 1 a.m. on Aug. 26, Juan Osorio approached security staff at Four Winds Casino South Bend, saying he wanted to confess to a murder in Chicago. Pokagon Tribal Band Police were then called to speak with Osorio.
Osorio said the murder happened two days earlier but was not sure at the time if police had found the body. Osorio said he took the train from Chicago to South Bend and was riding the bus around before he came to the casino.
He told security staff that he'd left a backpack in a bush outside of the casino. He was then brought to the Pokagon Tribal Band Police Department while they contacted Chicago police.
Officers in Chicago were then sent to the address given by Osorio, on the 900 block of West 78th Street. There they found a man dead with multiple stab wounds around 2:30 a.m.
Court documents show while Osorio was waiting inside the police department's interview room, he became agitated and kicked the wall several times, stating he was "going to tear this place up." Officers then entered the interview room to find the key fob box was broken off the wall and wiring was damaged.
An officer then stayed in the room with Osorio, after he told police he needed to use the restroom. Two officers then entered the interview room and Osorio allegedly began threatening them, saying he would "love to choke you to death" and requesting to remove his handcuffs to fight the officers. Osorio said if the officer won the fight, he'd confess to everything.
Police then searched the bushes outside of the casino where they found Osorio's backpack. Inside were a pair of jeans with drops of dried blood, as well as a Chicago police victim information sheet and tissues also covered with blood.
Osorio is now charged in St. Joseph County with Intimidation and Criminal Mischief. Osorio is still being held at the St. Joseph County Jail while the Chicago Police Department works to obtain an arrest warrant in connection to the murder.
Court documents show Osorio has several prior convictions in Illinois for Resisting Arrest, Burglary, Attempted Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, and Criminal Trespass.
