Man wanted for murder in Maryland arrested in Edwardsburg

EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- A man with an active warrant for first degree murder out of Maryland was taken into custody Tuesday evening after a traffic stop, according to Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police.

An officer conducted a traffic stop around 5:30 p.m. on a motorcycle with an expired plate.

Police said the man gave numerous false names, but after an hour and a half was able to determine the man's true identity.

The man had an active warrant for his arrest on first degree murder charges from the state of Maryland.

He was taken into custody on local charges of resisting and obstructing police, no license and no insurance.

His identity is being withheld pending arraignment.
