Mandela responds to treatment

SOUTH AFRICA — Former South African President Nelson Mandela is responding well to treatment.
It is the 94-year-old's sixth day in the hospital.
He is listed in serious but stable condition with a lung infection.
A spokesperson for the former president thanked the world for the messages of support and that they were very happy with the progress Mandela was making.
The current South African President also gave him well wishes.
