Many employers planning to increase salaries next year, says survey

A new survey shows many employers are planning to increase salaries next year.

The poll, conducted by consulting firm, Mercer, shows 98 percent of mid-size to large employers say they plan to boost pay in 2013.

On average, salaries are expected to increase by nearly three percent, but the raises won't be across the board.

Mercer said executive-level employees and top performers will likely benefit the most.

And the expected pay raises will vary depending on the industry.
