SOUTH BEND, Ind – Notre Dame football is eager to win their first game of the season, in the debut home game for Head Coach Marcus Freeman.
“Defensively they’re aggressive, they’re attacking, they’re d-line is extremely explosive,” said Freeman.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Marshall starts week two undefeated after winning 55-3 over Norfolk State, posting 600 plus total yards of offense and allowing 114 yards on defense.
“We know it’s a challenge. We know we’re going to face a motivated team,” Freeman added.
Notre dame will have some motivation of their own.
As they hope to open the offense up for quarterback Tyler Buchner, they’ll have more success this week, ow that captain and starting offensive lineman Jarrett Patterson is playing on Saturday, after nursing an injury.
“Jarrett has practiced every day and we are expecting him to play on Saturday,” said Freeman.
Leading up to the matchup, Freeman is satisfied with the way his team has bounced back after dropping the season opener in Columbus.
I’ really, really like our week of preparation and the focus that our players have had really since when we got back on Monday and got together and watched the film and put the Ohio State game behind us,” Freeman mentioned.
