CASS COUNTY, Mi. -- Bikers are coming together to remember a fellow fallen Marine Riders Southwest Michigan member on Sunday, August 23.
Bikers will ride through Michiana stopping at some of Kelly Butler’s favorite places in the area. Kelly passed away two years ago from a stroke. Last year, her husband, Sam Butler, decided to put together an annual ride to bring people together to remember her.
“She was very outgoing; you couldn’t take her any place where she didn’t make a friend,” Sam Butler said.
Around 75 riders from several bike clubs will ride across Michiana to some of Kelly’s favorite spots. Some destinations bikers will stop at include, Georges Bar and Grill and Bristol American Legion.
They will also be raising funds for two charities that Kelly supported, the VFW National Home for Children and the Indiana Donor Association.
“She liked to help others, to go above and beyond to be able to support and help, and give need to those who needed it versus herself,” Kelly’s daughter Hope Rogers said. “She always thought of others before herself ever.”
