Mason Jar Cafe holding fundraiser dinner for CASA June 13

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Mason Jar Cafe is holding a fundraising dinner for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Michigan (CASA) on June 13, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

During that time period, Mason Jar owners Jayme Cousins and Abel Martinez will be donating 70 percent of the proceeds from the benefit dinner back to CASA.

“We wanted to help progress CASA’s work helping children in crisis who are enduring situations that involve abuse and neglect courts,” explains Abel. “There is no better reason to open our doors at night than to welcome donors and supporters who are coming together for the greater good of children in Berrien and St. Joseph Counties.”

Owners say that the menu for the event will feature a chef’s choice appetizer, salad, choice of salmon, chicken, beef or vegetarian entree and dessert. There will be a cash bar available as well.

"We are so thankful for the generosity of the Mason Jar Cafe. Our organization trains and supports volunteers to advocate for youth in foster care who are navigating tumultuous situations. Events like this give us the resources we need to train and support our volunteers who go above and beyond in their advocacy for the most vulnerable children in our communities,” says CASA Executive Director Kate Rendell.

Those who want to attend should call the Mason Jar Cafe at (269) 757-7333 to make a reservation.
