SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Mayflower Bridge on South Bend's west side will be closed for about a month.
The closure will begin on Monday, April 6, due to a slab that needs to be replaced.
The bridge opened last fall and was delayed for two months for the issue.
Rafael Morton, St. Joseph County District Two Commissioner, stated, "It will be closed about a month, and we appreciate everyone's patience with this. We know that it's been a long project before we opened it before, and this will finally get it completed, and we won't have to touch those bridges for quite some time in the future."
Grandview Avenue will also be closed due to heavy traffic that would usually come from detouring onto the road.
