Mayor Buttigieg works on fitness with Muessel Primary students

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Mayor Pete Buttigieg was in for quite the workout with some energetic students.

The mayor did some push-ups and jumping jacks with the kids at Muessel Primary School Monday. The kids were very excited to see him and even asked for autographs.

Buttigieg said it’s important to spend time with the kids of the community.

"Well the kids had a lot of energy and we're talking about how fitness is a good thing and they wore me out pretty good,” said Buttigieg. “But it's nice, since we had a pizza party, it's appropriate to have a little fitness mixed into it."

Buttigieg will be at the Riverbend Community Math Center Tuesday to help with their end of the year festivities.
