Memorial Day ceremonies and events in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Goshen VFW Post 985, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) are hosting the Annual Memorial Day Parade and ceremonies on Monday, May 27.

Organizers say the event will start with a brief service at Powerhouse Park at 8:45 a.m. to honor fallen and missing U.S. Navy and Coast Guard members.

At 9 a.m., a Memorial Service will be held at the Veterans Memorial on the Elkhart County Courthouse Lawn.

The parade kicks off at 10:15 a.m. at Main and Jefferson Streets and will end at Oakridge Cemetery.

The parade will then travel north on Main Street to Pike Street. From there, it will travel west on Pike Street to 1st Street, turning north again to Oakridge Cemetery.

A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., with dignitaries and the Parade Marshal placing wreaths.

The public is invited, and the ceremonies and events are free.

The Parade Marshall will be Joseph Farrell, U.S. Air Force, MSgt (retired), a Gulf War veteran.

Chad McKeown, a Cpl, US Army, Iraq, will speak at Oakridge Cemetery.

Powerhouse Park is at 311 W Washington St.
